Bench series: October: People on Benches

Participating in the bench challenge. Other responses can be found here.

The photo of this bench was taken a couple of years ago in the Donald M. Kendall Sculpture Gardens at the Pepsico Headquarters outside Purchase, NY. The piece is: “Three People on Four Benches”  by George Segal. In the back you can see “Giant Trowel II” by Claes Oldenburg. I visited the garden on a very hot summer day and it was empty!

We have had a wooden bench in the family, for around fifty years, which was always in my parents’ garden and is now on the balcony of my daughter’s apartment. It was bought in the UK and shipped to the Netherlands.

Oh, my! I don;t know what to be more surprised by here – those ghostly figures or that giant trowel! Great entry to the challenge this month. Thank you for joining in 🙂
